The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on President Bola Tinubu and other political leaders to reduce their wages and entitlements to help alleviate economic hardship for the poor.

NLC spokesman Benson Upah emphasized the need for the government to pay a realistic national minimum wage, reduce the cost of governance, and combat corruption to improve workers’ welfare. Labour Party member Benedict Etanabene also highlighted the necessity of cutting governance costs and curbing reckless public spending to foster national growth.
