The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has praised the U20 Chipolopolo for qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). FAZ President Andrew Kamanga expressed pride in this achievement, noting that it reflects the progress outlined in their 10-year strategic plan.

“The qualification to the AFCON is yet another milestone,” Kamanga stated, emphasizing the significance of this accomplishment as a “perfect independence gift for the Zambian people. “Zambia secured their spot by defeating Zimbabwe 6-5 in penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Kamanga encouraged the team to stay focused, aiming for the championship and to improve upon their previous AFCON performances. Zambia previously won the U20 AFCON title in 2017 and is now looking forward to building on their recent successes.
