The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has taken decisive action against operators found conducting commercial flights under the guise of Permits for Non-Commercial Flights (PNCF).

This move comes after warnings issued in March 2024 regarding crackdowns on such violations.

Acting Director General of the NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, announced the suspension of PNCF permits for three operators caught breaching their terms. Increased surveillance at Nigerian airports led to the identification of these violations, which included breaches of annexure provisions and Part 9114 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023.

The suspension of PNCF permits underscores the NCAA’s commitment to upholding aviation regulations and ensuring compliance with established guidelines.

By taking proactive measures to address violations, the authority aims to enhance safety standards and maintain the integrity of Nigeria’s aviation sector.

While some may view this move as stringent, it reflects the NCAA’s dedication to enforcing regulations and holding operators accountable for adhering to prescribed protocols.

The suspension serves as a deterrent to others who may contemplate similar infractions, signaling that violations will not be tolerated.
